CVPC Event #8 – $75 NL Player Appreciation

The 2009 CVPC wrapped up with a $75 NL Player Appreciation event in which we added $1,000 to the prize pool.  95 entrants chased a total purse of $6,700 with the final three players chopping for $1,273 each.  Club One tournament regular, Kevin Lusk, claimed Overall Champion honors and the 2009 CVPC bracelet.  Total entrants and prize pools for the week–1,113 entrants and $111,860!

CVPC Event #7 – $250 NL Championships

On Saturday, August 8th, Jerry Yang, Jose Canseco, Barbara Enright were among 140 total entrants in CVPC Event #7 vying for a prize pool of over $30,000.  Ten hours of artful raises and nasty beats narrowed the field to former WSOP final tablist, Barbara Enright and Club One Casino dealer, Molly who chopped for over $6,000 each!

CVPC Event #6 – $150 NL Celebrity Bounty

Event #6 of the CVPC – the $150 NL Celebrity Bounty drew 122 hopefuls to trade bets with Jose Canseco (40/40 Club, 1986 Rookie of the Year, 1988 AL MVP), Barbara Enright (WSOP Hall of Fame, only woman to final table the Main Event), Jerry Yang (2007 WSOP Champion), Mike Dages (Fresno City Councilman), Tiffanie Mac (KRZR Calendar girl), Jason Von Flue (UFC fighter) and others.  Club One regular, Rim Plenys, knocked out Jose Canseco and earned an autographed game-used bat, and around 11p, the final table settled on a 7-way chop.  Check out some of the great photos below!

CVPC Event #5 – $100 NL

CVPC Event #5 – $100 NL drew a monster field of 182 entrants and a total prize pool of $15,470.  The top three finishers included Tim McKelhannon #1, David Smith #2 and Johnny Chang #5.

CVPC Event # 4 – $100 Omaha Hi/Lo drew 110 entrants and a prize pool of $9.350.  After a full day of 4 card craziness, the nine finalists chopped for $987 each.  No, we’re not kidding…a 9-way chop.

CVPC Event #3 – $100 Limit Hold’em

Event #3 ($100 Limit Hold’em) of the 2009 CVPC drew 64 players and a prize pool of $5440.  The tournament ended with a 5-way chop, with Tia Kamsone taking top honors.  Congrats to all the players!  Next up, Event #4 Omaha Hi/Lo.

CVPC Event #2 – $100 NL Partners

Event #2 of the 2009 Central Valley Poker Championships kicked off at 4:15p with 78 teams competing for the $7500 prize pool.  After almost 8 hours of play, the team of Ron Meas and Carlos Garcia took home first place honors and $2,250.  Congrats to all the teams!  Next up, Event #3 – $100 Limit Hold’em.

CVPC Event #1 – $100 NL

The 2009 Central Valley Poker Championships kicked off on Sunday, August 2nd.  Event #1 ($100 NL) drew a record number of entrants (244) competing for a $21,240 prize pool.  After almost 9 hours of play, the three finalists chopped for over $3,000 each!  Club One Casino regular John P. took home the first place trophy, Arvin A. took 2nd and Kun C. rounded out the top 3.  Congrats to all the players!
