The 2nd Annual Central Valley Poker Championships will be held from August 2 through August 9, 2009. The calendar of events has not been finalized but will include NL events from $100-$300 buy-in, an Omaha event and a celebrity bounty event. Last year’s CVPC series generated a total prize pool of over $125,000, and many of the events will be deep-stack events with 10k chips and 30-minute levels. This is a series you won’t want to miss, so check back in a couple of weeks for full details!

The largest buy-in event should have a better blind structure than is currently planned. The Summer Deep Heat had pretty good play the first day and absolutely horrible play the second day. Either the antes need to be cut down, the rounds extended to 50 minutes, or the blinds themselves restructured more player friendly. I think people would be happy to be a little higher admin. fee in order to have the opportunity to play in a decent tournament.
