Job Summary:
- Maintain a clean and organized dish station.
- Make sure soap, sanitizer and rinse functions are working properly.
- Respond promptly to all requests by kitchen staff.
- Operate equipment safely and notify management of improper operation or breakage.
- Use caution when handling plates, glass, and silverware to reduce breakage or inadvertent disposal of utensils.
- Organize food storage and receiving area, stocking, rotating, labeling, dating and covering.
- Keep all floors (including walk-in coolers) free of standing water, grease or obstacles.
- Keep rubbish areas clean sanitized and helps to maintain organization of all recycled rubbish.
- Use sanitizer bucket and fresh towels and adhere to ServSafe standards.
- Complete continuing education or training as directed by management.
- Any and all other reasonable duties that may be assigned in the future.
Essential Job Skills:
- Ability to lift and carry sacks, boxes, product up to 25 pounds from floor to above waist level, approx. 20 ft and sometimes involving stairs.
- Ability to stand or walk during entire shift.
- Ability to work at a continuous high pace while maintaining quality standards.
- Reading and understanding English required.
- Works closely with other staff members, often in confined areas.
- Meets all health department and ServSafe standards for safe food handling.
- Able to work at approx. 36” and reach in approx. 36”.
- Must reach (6” to overhead) bend, stoop and wipe.
- Must have experience and knowledge of kitchen equipment including but not limited to knives, slicer, mixer, salamander, stoves, ovens, Hobart mixer, and broiler.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Card Room work permit.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current California Food Handler Card or ServSafe Certificate.
