Security Officer

Job Summary:

  • Responsible for providing a secure and safe environment for customers while ensuring compliance with California State gaming laws.
  • Complete continuing education or training as directed by management.
  • All other reasonable duties that may be assigned in the future.

Scope of Authority

  • Limited to the boundaries set forth in the Club One Policies and Procedures Manual.  Limited to the boundaries set forth by the State of California, Guard Registration Permit – “Powers of Arrest”.  Authorized by Club One, Inc., Policies and Procedures to ensure safety and security of the premises, employees, guests and possessions. 

Essential Job Skills:

  • Greet and direct customers to desired destination (casino area, restaurant/bar, restrooms, etc.).
  • Check people entering any gaming area to confirm legal age (21 years of age).  Handle requests for identification diplomatically.
  • Conduct periodic foot patrol in the parking areas utilized by Club One Casino guests. Report any suspicious activity that may occur in the parking areas to the Surveillance Control Center.
  • Always remain alert to anticipate potential problems.  Assist and back up casino, food and beverage and/or security personnel when called.
  • Perform D-14 duties to include bending, kneeling and lifting to 20 pounds.
  • Complete D-14 paperwork completely and accurately.
  • Report breaks, leaves, shift changes, new games and any suspicious activity to surveillance.
  • Maintain a valid California Drivers License.  Drive Club One golf cart vehicles to pick up and deliver customers as instructed by floor personnel. 
  • Complete shift/incident paperwork and worker/customer injury forms promptly and accurately.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and proper uniform while on duty.  Maintain a professional demeanor while off duty at Club One Casino.
  • Assist in “last call” pick-up as directed by surveillance, floor personnel or food and beverage management.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the Club One Casino Security and Surveillance Policy and Procedures manual, including any updates.
  • Engage in job-related training including but not limited to safety, first aid and casino procedures.
  • Review updates to the Deny Entry, Customer Concern, and Statewide Self-Exclusion at the start of every shift.
  • All other reasonable duties that may be assigned in the future.
  • Must maintain good physical condition to ensure that security staff can respond to security issues quickly and effectively.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Card Room work permit.
  • Must possess State of California Security Guard Registration or Proprietary Security Officer Registration.
